So... what is ILUSTRATON?

about-01.webpIllustrated self-portrait of Washington
Illustrated self-portrait of Washington: a smiling bearded illustrator in glasses and a yellow hoodie, carrying a giant drawing pen on his shoulder yes, that's me

A tiny studio with a big pencil.

ILUSTRATON is me, Washington. A Brazilian illustrator living in Germany who learned to draw by copying manga and simply never stopped. Ten years later: 20+ published books, four countries, four languages.

about-02.webpBene at three ages side by side (2-4, original, 11-14)
The character Bene drawn at three ages side by side: toddler, original and teenager same character, 3 ages

I make characters that stick.

Kids don't remember illustrations. They remember characters. So I design faces, poses and personalities that stay the same from page one to book eight.

Bene in Motion sports poses next to a mascot designed for a travel brand books, brands, screens

Then I let them out of the book.

The same character can star in campaigns, social media, animations and products, without losing who they are.

From a messy sketch to a finished world.

You see the process from the first rough lines, and you get files ready for print and digital.
